Christiana Mall limits hours due to coronavirus, some stores temporarily close

The corridors of Christiana Mall were mostly empty Monday afternoon as shoppers stayed away because of concerns over coronavirus.

Starting Monday, the mall will limit its hours and will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. 

However, many of the stores have already posted signs on their windows saying they are temporarily closed.

  • Aveda
  • Microsoft
  • Apple
  • Fabletics
  • Abercrombie & Fitch
  • Vans

Other stores posted signs reassuring customers they're taking extra precautions such as cleaning surfaces multiple times a day.

The mall also decided to postpone the arrival of the Easter bunny.

Restaurants in the mall will be limited to takeout and delivery under further notice according to an order Monday afternoon from Gov. John Carney.

On Monday, Delaware saw its eighth confirmed case of the coronvirus.
