Christiana Mall was "business as usual" amid event cancellations and restaurants temporarily closing due to the coroanvirus cases in Delaware, a mall official said Friday.

All the mall's stores were open and operating at normal hours, said Steve Chambliss, senior general manager. The state's largest mall will be following the direction of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state government.

The parking lot is completely full at the Christiana Mall near Cabela's on Black Friday in 2019.

Chambliss said the mall is regularly reviewing its plans, since everything is "still fluid."

Gov. John Carney declared a state of emergency on Thursday, following the announcement of four coronavirus cases in Delaware. It went into effect Friday.

The state of emergency requires the Delaware National Guard to "take precautionary and responsive actions to assist with Delaware’s response to the coronavirus," according to a news release.
