Health officials have confirmed 9,236 coronavirus cases as of Friday. Sussex County continues to see the highest number of cases with 4,155, while New Castle County has 3,629 and Kent County has 1,401.

A total of 57,533 coronavirus tests have been conducted, health officials said. More than 5,100 people have recovered from the virus.

A majority of the deaths in Delaware continue to be associated with long-term care centers. As of May 29, 228 of the coronavirus deaths — or 64% —  were of long-term care residents.

A total of 687 long-term care residents have tested positive for the virus, officials said.

Residents in Wilmington's Southbridge neighborhood get tested for coronavirus Thursday, April 23, 2020, outside the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center.

Gov. John Carney and public health officials have said in recent weeks that the state's hospitalization rate is a key figure for determining when sectors of the state will reopen.

Starting June 1, the state will lift its ban on short-term rentals and the mandatory quarantine for out-of-state travelers.

Outdoor gatherings of up to 250 people, including weddings and outdoor ceremonies, will also be allowed in the coming week. People must wear cloth face coverings and keep 6 feet of distance.
