Delaware weather: Severe thunderstorm watch for Wednesday evening

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for northern Delaware Wednesday night with a prediction of torrential rain, local flooding and high winds.

The watch continues until about 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

Severe weather is also expected in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, most of Maryland, Washington, DC and parts of Virginia.

The chance of thunderstorms continues for Thursday, with damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall and localized flooding possible.
