Two Desert Hot Springs residents arrested for alleged firearm, explosive manufacturing

Two Desert Hot Springs residents were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing material to make explosive devices, police said. 

Naomi Medina and Kevin Boykin, both 20, were arrested after Desert Hot Springs police served a search warrant in the 67-700 block of Hatchet Cactus Drive, according to the agency. 

Police found evidence of handguns and rifles being manufactured in the residence as well as material used to build explosive devices.

Medina is being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on $25,000 bail, according to jail records. She could face multiple felony charges. 

Boykin also is being held on $25,000 bail in Banning and could face multiple felony charges, jail records show. 

Both are expected to appear in court Friday.
