The multi-Grammy award winning R&B/hip-hop trio TLC is undeniably one of the most successful and influential girl groups in music history. The act consisting of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas changed the game with their unique sound, edgy look and inspirational tracks dedicated to love, life and friendships.

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins (L), Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of the group TLC celebrate their award for Best R&B Video at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The award was for their "Waterfalls" video and TLC also won two other awards.

Dominating the charts in the 1990s and early 2000s, one of the famous group members is from the 515. Can you guess who?

You may have guessed right. Watkins was born in Des Moines on April 26, 1970. At the age of nine, Watkins and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where TLC was formed. While the group ultimately ended due to the tragic death of fellow bandmate Lopes following a car crash on April 25, 2002, the trio is still widely known for hit tracks like "Creep," "No Scrubs," "Unpretty," and more.

Now, Watkins is known to perform with Thomas occasionally. She also released her 2017 memoir, "A Sick Life: TLC 'n Me: Stories from On and Off the Stage." Watkins continues to advocate for patients with sickle cell anemia, a disease she has had since childhood, and being a mother to 18-year-old daughter Chase Anela Rolison.
