Des Moines' second Brazilian steakhouse opens with all-you-can-eat meat

The metro’s second Brazilian steakhouse has opened in West Des Moines, offering all-you-can-eat meat carved at your table.

Brazil Terra Grill has opened in West Des Moines.

Brazil Terra Grill (2800 University Ave.) debuted Tuesday in Clocktower Square next to Gusto Pizza Co. Owner and Brazil native Kleber de Souza said the restaurant offers barbecue beef, chicken, fish, pork, lamb, pineapple and vegetables. There also is a large salad bar.

Diners can opt for the all-you-can-eat salad bar and barbecue ($18.99 for lunch and $38.99 for dinner) or choose smaller portions with limited meat choices.

There is seating for 240 in the dining room and bar along with space for 50 on the patio, he said.

Originally from southern Brazil, de Souza came to the United States 20 years ago to attend college. He moved to Des Moines six years ago and works as a project manager in information technology.

The metro’s other Brazilian restaurant, BAH Brazilian Steakhouse, opened at the end of November in the Soll apartment building at 2301 Ingersoll Ave. Owner Fabricio Floriani is also from Brazil.

Brazil Terra Grill hours are will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The restaurant will be closed on Sunday.
