Police investigate drive-by shooting on Des Moines' northwest side

Police officers are investigating a drive-by shooting that took place near Des Moines' north-west side. 

The suspect vehicle drove by and fired at a group of teenagers around 3:45 Friday afternoon on the 5500 block of Aurora Avenue near the Price Chopper grocery store on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines' northwest side, according to Sgt. Paul Parizek, spokesman for the Des Moines Police Department.

At least one bullet hit 5501 Aurora Ave., but there were no injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
