A Des Moines man threatened to kill multiple people inside a gas station, including his girlfriend, during a call to 911 on Saturday morning, according to court documents.

Gerald Michael Evans Jr., 43, was booked Saturday afternoon on four charges, including making a threat of terrorism and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Before 1 a.m., Evans told a dispatcher he was three blocks from the QuikTrip at 614 University Avenue and planned to crash his vehicle into the building and "kill everybody in there," according to the criminal complaint.

Evans said he was armed with two handguns, the criminal complaint said.

Court documents show he was also charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and eluding arrest.

Evans admitted to having consumed alcohol, cocaine and prescription drugs, according to the criminal complaint, which noted his BAC was 0.105.

Court documents show Evans was granted a public defender. No other information was immediately known.

Evans is being held on a $35,000 cash bond and due in court for a preliminary hearing on April 30.
