Iowa DOT: Portions of west mixmaster near Des Moines, Iowa Highway 5 to close during Tuesday rush hour
Iowa Department of Transportation plans to close parts of the west mixmaster near Des Moines as well as portions of Iowa Highway 5 on Tuesday, according to a news release from the organization.
Iowa 5 will be closed from I-35 south to Army Post Road.
"The rolling closures will occur during the afternoon rush hour. While roadways will close and reopen quickly, travelers should expect delays," the release states. "Commuters in this area are encouraged to find an alternative route this afternoon."
Interstate Highway 29 will also be closed in western Iowa Interstate Highway 80 to Bunge Avenue for about two hours, the DOT announced.
"Through traffic should follow eastbound I-80 to southbound I-35, and local traffic should use eastbound I-80 to southbound U.S. 71," a separate separate release states.
A portion of the inside lane of northbound I-29 will be closed, but the outside lane will remain open to traffic.
