Police: 19-year-old Iowa man found with 'AR15 style rifle,' nearly 17 pounds of marijuana
A 19-year-old Des Moines man is facing six felony charges after police found drugs, scales and guns inside his southeast Des Moines home.
Nathan Lendt is facing three counts of a substance control violation and three counts of failure to affix a drug stamp stemming from a Feb. 4 search of his home in the 4600 block of Southeast 34th Street, according to court documents. All are Class D felonies.
Police found nearly 17 pounds of marijuana, more than 1 pound of THC hashish and 1 pound of marijuana wax while executing a search warrant, court records show.
A "large sum" of cash was also found, along with a digital scale, packaging materials, a vacuum sealer, a money counter, an "AR15 style rifle" and a handgun, police say. More than $5,600 cash was taken from the home, according court records.
Lendt is being held on $30,000 bond and is next due in court at 8 a.m. Feb. 25. An after-hours call to Lendt's attorney was not immediately returned.
