Police in Ames have identified two men involved Sunday in a fatal crash between a car and a motorcycle.

Kyle W. Crozier of Des Moines was the motorcyclist killed in the collision, according to a news release from Ames Police Department. The 29-year-old was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Robert L. Fink of Ames was driver of the car in the crash, which happened at 4:44 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of South Duff Avenue and South Second Street, police say. The 27-year-old was driving a Chevrolet Impala that collided with Crozier.

Ames police Cmdr. Jason Tuttle said it's possible that Fink will be cited in the incident.

"We're looking at more the traffic side of it," Tuttle said. "We don't think there was any type of ill intent, just a very unfortunate accident."

Tuttle said officers would still like to talk with possible witnesses to learn more about what led up to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Ames police 515-239-5133 or drop an anonymous tip at 515-239-5533.
