Police: Estimated $235K worth of drugs found in Des Moines man's bedroom closet

A Des Moines man was arrested after police say they found thousands of grams of various drugs in his apartment. 

Jean Descolline was charged with multiple controlled substance violations with intent to distribute after police found 520 grams of cocaine and 473 grams of methamphetamine in his bedroom closet as well as 1,300 grams of marijuana in various locations throughout his residence, according to court documents.

Sgt. Paul Parizek, spokesman for Des Moines police, said the total value of the drugs found is $235,000.

Descolline also had 57 grams of meth on him when he was located by police, according to a criminal complaint. Police also found a digital scale and narcotics packaging "wholly consistent with distribution" in the apartment. 

Descolline admitted to police that all of the contraband found in his apartment bedroom belonged to him. He was also charged with multiple counts of failure to affix drug tax stamps.
