Police: Man shot in Drake neighborhood drive-by expected to survive

A man was shot in the leg Thursday in the city's Drake neighborhood, police say.
Sgt. Paul Parizek, a spokesman with Des Moines police, said the 25-year-old male victim was hit in the 1000 block of Kingman Circle and is expected to survive his injuries.

Witnesses told police someone in a dark-colored sedan fired a weapon at a residence on the block as the vehicle drove at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
No arrests have been announced as police continue to investigate.
