A central Iowa man has been arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing and robbing a woman while also groping her.

Jake William Peitzman, 24, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Friday for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse — bodily injury and first-degree robbery, court records show.

The Perry man is accused of unexpectedly showing up to a Des Moines woman's house and assaulting and robbing her on Dec. 22, 2018, according to a criminal complaint by police in Iowa's capital city.

"(Peitzman) threw the defendant down on the stairs in front of her residence, pulled a knife out and threatened to killed her if she didn't give up her money," the complaint says.

Peitzman strangled the woman and cut her in the stomach, chin hand and face, police say.

"He ... then was fondling her breast under shirt," the complaint states. "Her boyfriend was able to get (Peitzman) off of her by kicking him in the face."

The victim identified Peitzman from his Facebook page, police say. He was booked Friday and was released the same day, court records show.

A no-contact order has been brought between the victim and Peitzman, who is next due in court July 1.
