Name of woman killed in Creston shooting released; man arrested at scene, charged with gun crime

Authorities have released the name of a 44-year-old woman fatally shot last week. 

Police responded to a report of shots fired at 2304 N. Pine Street at about 2 a.m. June 19, according to a police news release. Officers found Christy Hribal, who was visiting the home, with a gunshot wound. She was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital where she later died. 

Charles Keeton, 36, of Creston was arrested at the scene and charged with felon in possession of a firearm, according to Monday's release. No charges have been filed for Hribal's death

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and Creston police continue to investigate the shooting.
