Police: Man, woman hospitalized in overnight shooting north of downtown Des Moines

A man and woman have been hospitalized after they were shot early Monday morning in Des Moines, police said. 

Police were called to the scene of a shooting around 12:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of 13th Street, north of downtown, Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek said. First-responders found a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach and a woman who had been shot twice in the leg. 

Both victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

No arrests have been made in the shooting incident as of Monday morning, but Parizek said police believe the shooter knew the victims.
