Des Moines man accused of sexually abusing minor multiple times
A Des Moines man is facing felony charges after allegedly sexually abusing a girl multiple times.
Mark William Freemyer, 59, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse, court records show. Criminal complaints say the man sexually assaulted a girl when she was a preteen and again when she was 14 years old.
The man reported himself as homeless, according to court records. The exact dates of the abuse are not known, the complaint states, but the alleged incidents happened at a Des Moines residence on the city's north side.
A no-contact order has been put in place between the suspect and victim.
Freemyer's record includes several drug and theft charges along with traffic infractions, but no violent crimes. An attorney has not been listed for Freemyer, who is next due in court Jan. 31.
