The Des Moines Public Library will celebrate Halloween all month, with dozens of activities at all branches.

It’s a freaky fun time of year at the Des Moines Public Library. Time to celebrate spiders and bats, ghosts and ghouls, and, of course, pumpkins.

We have dozens of things happening at all six of our Des Moines Public Library branches as we host crafts, events, and programs for all ages.

Halloween Storytimes: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., Central Library (wizarding animals with the Blank Park Zoo); Thursday, 10:30 a.m., East Side Library (pumpkin theme).

Mask Crafts: Wednesday, 4 p.m., Central Library (animal masks); Saturday, 10 a.m. to– 4 p.m., South Side Library (monster masks).

Free Flicks at East – 'Goosebumps 2': Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., East Side Library. Join us for a special showing of "Goosebumps 2," enjoy some light refreshments and check out Goosebumps books to take home. Rated-PG.

CSI Des Moines – True Crime Stories: Wednesday, 6 p.m., South Side Library. Hear about true crime stories that occurred in Des Moines from retired DMPD investigator Greg Gourd. This program is intended for an adult audience.

Halloween Trivia: Monday, 4 p.m., North Side Library. Join us after school to compete for prizes during this spooky trivia competition. Snacks will be provided. For teens.

Dress-Up Storytimes: Monday, 6:30 p.m., South Side Library; Oct. 29, 6:15 p.m., and Oct. 30, 10:15 and 11 a.m., Franklin Avenue Library; Oct. 30, 10:15 a.m., Forest Avenue Library.

Fright Night at the Library: Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m., Franklin Avenue Library. Join the Final Act Ensemble vintage radio group as they present a fright-filled radio program.

Zombie Makers: Oct. 30, 4:30 p.m., East Side Library. Turn old stuffed animals, action figures, dolls and other toys into creatures of the night. We'll have plenty of supplies to help you make the transformation. Ages 8-18.

Nailed It! Halloween Edition: Oct. 31, 2:30 p.m., South Side Library. Take your chance at building and creating your own Halloween dessert based on a premade item. Ages 9-18.

Harry Potter Program:  Oct. 31, 3 p.m., Franklin Avenue Library (Harry Potter party)
