Free eMagazines at the Des Moines Public Library keep you company during holiday vacation

Des Moines Public Library

As the busy holiday season winds down and the cold snaps become more frequent, curl up on your couch with your phone or tablet and keep up to date with the latest news, celebrity gossip, fashion trends, and more – anywhere you are, at any time – by checking out the Des Moines Public Library’s collection of eMagazines.

The library offers more than 100 digital magazine titles to read for free on your computer, phone or tablet, using your Des Moines Public Library card. To get started, go to www.dmpl.org/stream-download. There you’ll find information on how to download our RBDigital app to start checking out and reading the latest issues (and back issues as far back as five years) of publications like National Geographic, The New Yorker, Food Network Magazine, Us Weekly, and many more. (Residency restrictions apply; cardholders must live in Des Moines or rural Polk County to use RBDigital.)

And beginning Jan. 1, the library is adding a second eMagazine app – Flipster – that will add publications like Martha Stewart Living, People, People en Espanol, Sports Illustrated, and Time. Flipster does not have residency restrictions, so these eMagazines titles are available to anyone with a Des Moines Public Library card, regardless of their home address.

NOTE: All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. All libraries will remain closed on Wednesday before opening for normal hours on Thursday.
