The state's top basketball recruit will be treated as such in April's final couple weeks.

Oskaloosa five-star 2020 power forward Xavier Foster has scheduled coach visits with Iowa and Iowa State, his father, DaJuan Foster, told the Register on Wednesday. The Hawkeyes will conduct an in-home visit with the 7-footer Tuesday, and the Cyclones will visit him at his workout on April 28.

USC will also visit Foster at his workout on April 29.

Oskaloosa's Xavier Foster (34) looks for a pass during their boys 3A state semi-final basketball tournament game on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in Des Moines. Oskaloosa and Winterset take a 28-28 tie into halftime.

Those three schools are thought to be top contenders among his slew of offers. There's a chance for new programs to enter the race, though, as Foster plans to play out this spring and summer and see where his recruiting landscape stands after that.

Schools such as Kentucky, Duke, Michigan and Ohio State have shown interest. We'll see if that interest turns into an offer over the AAU season.

Foster is a major recruiting priority for the Cyclones and Hawkeyes. The in-state star would be a huge get for either program.
