Detroit police released surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run reported downtown.

A 33-year-old woman was standing beside a truck near Elizabeth Street and Park Avenue about 9:30 p.m. June 7 and talking with the driver when another motorist "began to drive at a high rate of speed, hitting the victim and the Chevy," investigators said in a statement.

The woman was injured and treated at a hospital, police said.

The suspect fled north on Park then west on Elizabeth in a gray Chevrolet Corvette with tinted windows, a temporary paper license plate in the rear window and a broken driver side mirror, according to the release.

The gray Chevrolet Corvette was seen on camera near the scene.

Anyone who has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s 3rd Precinct at (313) 596-1340. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
