Detroit — A 27-year-old man was killed and a man and a woman in their 20s were both shot in the face in a home invasion early Thursday morning on Detroit's west side, police said.

The triple shooting started at about 2:30 a.m. with a knock on the door at a home on the 18400 block of Robson. That's south of West Seven Mile and east of Greenfield.

Police say a 28-year-old man answered the door and allowed in a man who started shooting once inside.

A 27-year-old man died at the scene after being shot multiple times.

The 28-year-old man was shot in his mouth and was listed in temporary serious condition.

A 26-year-old woman was shot in her "head and face" and was listed in critical condition.

No detailed description of the shooter is immediately available.

The shooting on Robson was the second triple-shooting overnight in Metro Detroit.

The first took place four hours earlier in Pontiac. Three males, 16, 20, and 21, went to a home to retrieve items belonging to the 20-year-old's sister. She'd just broken up with her boyfriend.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says that the estranged lover, 25, shot the trio, killing the 20-year-old.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene without incident.
