Man fatally shot in fight on Detroit's west side

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot Monday on the city's west side, Detroit police said.

A preliminary investigation found that the victim had been arguing with another man at about 6:15 p.m. in the 15800 block of Joy when the fight turned physical.

The suspect pulled out a handgun, shot the 27-year-old and fled on foot, authorities said.

The victim was rushed to a hospital but died from his wounds.

Investigators are working to find the suspect. He is described as in his 20s, 6 feet tall, with a light complexion and short dreadlocks.
