The 2019-20 college basketball season is a long way away, but it’s never too early for Michigan and Michigan State to get into a recruiting battle.

The Wolverines and Spartans are both in the running for 2020 four-star Maumee (Ohio) guard Zeb Jackson, who announced his list of seven finalists on Twitter on Friday.

Michigan and Michigan State are two of four Big Ten teams to make the cut, along with Purdue and Ohio State. Marquette, Butler and Arizona State rounded out the list.

Jackson (6-foot-2, 160 pounds) is rated the No. 2 prospect in Ohio and No. 66 recruit in the nation in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also had 17 offers before whittling it down to seven.

Jackson made an unofficial visit to Michigan State in late August and received an offer on Sept. 1. He took an unofficial visit to Michigan on Sept. 15 and was extended Michigan’s first 2020 offer on Thursday.
