For the first time in its 547 year history, Exeter’s Tuckers Hall on Fore St is staging a music concert featuring one of David Bowie's favourite guitarists.

Keith Christmas played guitar on David Bowie’s Space Oddity also played at the first ever Glastonbury Festival. Keith is still writing and playing new material and has toured with such legends as The Who, Frank Zappa and King Crimson and played with Roxy Music, The Kinks and Captain Beefheart.

He still tours regularly but this will be his first Exeter gig for more than 40 years.

Keith released his first album in 1969 and his latest Crazy Dancing Days just last year.

Tuckers Hall was built in the 1470s as a chapel for the Weavers, Fullers and Shearmen, the Exeter clothworkers guild. It was converted to a meeting hall at the Reformation and forty years later a second floor was added and the upper room became the Hall. The woollen cloth trade in Exeter died out about 200 years ago, but the guild survived and still meet there today.

In the 1630s the Hall was panelled and is a stunning example of craftsmanship.

There are less than 50 tickets on sale for the candlelit concert. The cost is £15 and tickets are set to sell quickly. Doors open at 8pm and the concerts starts at 8.30pm.

Keith will play a 90 minute set followed by a question and answer session and signing.
