A broken down level crossing has sparked misery for drivers in Exeter.

British Transport Police has established a diversion following a fault at Red Cow level crossing, on Station Road.

The pedestrian and car crossing is situated next to Exeter St David's railway station.

Traffic has been stopped in both directions and police say the resulting delays could last two hours.

Drivers are being told to find "alternative routes."
