The South Devon family and friends of the young family who died in a terrible house fire at the weekend have set up a fundraising campaign.

Justine Collison, 33, and her children Izzy, eight, and Harvey, five, all passed away following the blaze on Saturday, December 15.

Justine's husband, RAF engineer Gavin, 34, remains seriously ill in hospital, while her mother, Diane Fletcher, is understood to have been led to safety from the family home in Collingham, Nottinghamshire.

Friends who knew Justine have been describing her as a 'ray of sunshine' with a 'pure heart of gold'.

Justine grew up and went to school in Torquay before moving to Nottinghamshire and her mum Diane had also moved to live with her daughter's family in the four bedroom house where tragedy struck.

Lisa Ball from Paignton has started a Facebook fundraiser to help the family and it has already raised nearly £9,000 in two days.

Lisa said: "It is with a heavy heart I am setting up this official fundraising page for Justine, Isabella and Harvey who were sadly taken away from us on Saturday 15th December 2018.

"They sadly lost their lives due to a house fire at their home in Collingham, Newark.
"Any funds raised will go to her husband and her mum to help pay for the funeral costs and to support the family. Anything that anyone can donate will be much appreciated."

Justine's mum Diane Fletcher, who is also from Torquay, escaped from the fire. She was staying with her daughter's family in Collingham to live with her daughter's family in the four bed house.

Another Torquay friend said: "Words can't explain how I'm feeling. I'm completely heartbroken. I have lost my beautiful brave Justine and her babies. She was the closest thing I had to a big sister and always there for me to go to for words of wisdom and a bloody good laugh! She was a breath of fresh air and brought a ray of sunshine wherever she went. A pure heart of gold!"

Devoted dad Gavin, 34, had shared a heartbreaking post about 'family love' on Facebook about a recent family trip to London in April.

The trio beamed at the camera as they were snapped on the London Eye, at Legoland, the Natural History Museum and the aquariaum.

Gavin captioned it: "A few holiday highlights from our family trip to London. Oh so tiring but worth it! #familylove."

Taking to Facebook, one devastated friend said: "Justine I'll never forget your bright huge smile." And another said: "Justine was a lovely kind person and she will be missed by everyone who knew her."

Another heartbroken friend said: " "My beautiful best friend and her two beautiful children all taken in such awful circumstances.

"Gav is still fighting at present.

"I love you so much Justine, Izzy and Harvey."
