Exeter School pupils, parents, staff and governors are pleased to announce an excellent set of A Level results, with a 100% pass rate.

Thirty-four pupils scored three or more A* or A grades, with almost a quarter - 20% - of all results at A*. 

53% of all grades were A* or A, with four out of every five grades - 81% - coming in at A*, A or B.

Head girl, Beth Pittman, scored two A* and one A grades and plans on having a gap year before studying Economics at Durham University.

Hugs all round for those picking up their results

First XI hockey player and a keen singer, Beth was a soloist in the school's Choral Society concert, held at Exeter Cathedral. Beth said she had the most fantastic time at Exeter School and couldn't have wished for better teaching, support or encouragement to reach her potential from all of the staff. 

"There have been so many opportunities to get involved in all areas of school life, such as music, drama or sports, and through this we have made lifelong friends and memories. I'm so grateful to everyone who has been a part of the journey."

Head Boy Ben Harvey achieved four A* grades, securing his offer to read Natural Sciences at Durham University. Talented sportsman Ben represented the school in the 1st cricket and football teams. He said he was sad to be leaving and loved his time at Exeter School.

"I have always felt 100% supported with work and decisions about the future and the staff have always been willing to go out of their way to help. The sport and all the other opportunities we have been given were fantastic. I've made lots of great friends and have brilliant memories."

Maddy King joined Exeter School in the Sixth Form from St Peter's School. She immediately threw herself into Sixth Form life, starring in two Senior School productions - Julius Caesar and Tristan and Yseult. Maddy also represented the school in the first XI hockey team.

Maddy attained three A*s and goes on to study English at UCL. Maddy said she thoroughly enjoyed her time in the Sixth Form. "It has provided me with a foundation to explore my interests and potential both socially and academically that has prepared me for university and onwards."

Jamie Stephenson's 4 A* grades guarantee his place to read Maths, at Jesus College, Cambridge. Whilst at school he completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, kayaking and camping around the Scottish highlands as part of his final expedition.

House Captain Bethan Reynolds achieved one A* and two A grades. A keen member of the school's Medical Society, she has secured her place to read Medicine at Cardiff University.

Headmaster Bob Griffin congratulated Exeter School's 110 A level candidates on their high results, he paid warm tribute to the supportive and industrious partnership that exists between them, their parents and their teachers, which has enabled them to do so well.
