Four people have been left injured after a shooting near a pub in Exeter late last night.

Police were called to reports of a firearm being discharged near The Globe Inn Exeter at just before 11pm on Friday night.

A man received an injury to left cheek with three other victims with minor injuries identifying themselves to officers from Devon and Cornwall Police.

The address was identified for the offender and a man was arrested and weapon recovered.  The weapon has not been fully examined at this time but appears to be an air rifle.

It has been confirmed that police are not looking for anyone else and the man arrested is still in custody awaiting interview.

It comes after an initial shooting incident at the same location earlier in the afternoon between 3.30pm and 4pm when witnesses said they felt themselves being hit by pellets.

The police force is treating the two incidents as connected at this time but there are two separate ongoing appeals.

Anyone with information about the first incident is asked to contact the police quoting log number 517 of March 15.

While anyone who has any information in relation to the second incident please call 101 quoiting ref 951 of March 15.
