Seven vehicles have been damaged after a fire started in a car park in Marsh Barton.

Firefighters received 999 calls to reports of a fire near to the Exeter Business Centre at around 11.09am this morning.

On attendance fire crews found three vehicles well alight and four of other vehicles sustained damage.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said that three vehicles were "100 per cent destroyed" by the blaze and that crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Two fire engines attended and the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.

William Stacey Hawkins took to Facebook to share a video of the incident.

Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as fire crews worked to tackle the blaze.

He said: "Wow 2 cars on fire down Marsh Barton."
