Crewe Alexandra have not given up hope of making the end of season play-offs in League Two and are targeting a win against Exeter City to keep that dream alive.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Alex midfielder Paul Green says the Railwaymen fear no one right now given their recent run of form which has yielded six wins, three draws and just the one defeat in the last ten matches.

That run has seen them beat leaders Lincoln and secure victories against play-off contenders MK Dons, Colchester United and Carlisle United. Alex are now 13th in the table and six points off a top seven spot.

“Exeter are another club that are up there and it is another chance for us to pick up three points from those above us,” Green said. “We have to keep doing that and catch up to that pack if we can.

“All we can do is carry on what we have been doing, especially at home, where we have been very good. We have been scoring goals and looking a threat, so when you do that, you always have a chance.

“The performances have been good and we have to keep it going and crack on. We are confident of getting a result against anyone at home. Even if we don’t play as well as we can, we have found a way to win and grind out that win and that is important.

He added: “Those points can make the difference at the end of the season but we are only focused on Exeter. It is up to us to perform to our potential and aim for another three points.”

Crewe have not lost at Gresty Road since December 8 and manager David Artell has called on the home fans to make things difficult for the Grecians this weekend.

"As disappointing as Macclesfield away was right at the end, and because some people invaded the pitch, the fans are much appreciated and they make such a difference.

"If people don't believe that, look at our home record. It's terrific and the fans have a great part to play in it.

"We all have to stick together, we can't do it alone. We wouldn't survive as a football club.

"We've all got to be pulling in the right direction and the fans understand that, we have knowledgeable fans."
