If the Devon County Show is known for two things, it’s animals and food.

This year’s show has not disappointed, and aside from the alpacas and Devon Ruby cattle there is some delicious food and drink on offer.

We had the arduous task of going round all the food and drink stands in the showground at Westpoint to find seven samples you have to try.

The three-day show finishes today.

Dartmoor IPA

Dartmoor IPA, from Dartmoor Brewery

The Dartmoor Brewery are tucked behind the livestock arena but are well worth a visit. Their famous Dartmoor IPA has been going for 25 years and to celebrate they are launching kegs of the ale.

But you can pick up a cheeky taster of the ale either from the bar or by tracking down one of the staff wandering the showground.

Kin Toffee Vodka

Kin Toffee Vodka

There’s not a lot more to say about this one, its vodka flavoured with toffee – what’s not to love?!

Kin Toffee Vodka is one of the stalls situated in the new food walk, close to the food and drink pavilion.

Glastonbury Twanger

Glastonbury Twanger cheese

If the name wasn’t enough to entice you, the smell certainly will. Green’s of Glastonbury bring you their vintage cheddar, the Glastonbury Twanger. This cheese certainly packs a punch, as do the others that this glorious cheese stall has to offer.

Beckford’s Rum

Beckford's Rum

Beckford’s is a rum and caramel drink, but far from being a millennial invention, this drink dates back to the Georgian era.

And we’re definitely glad Beckford’s brought back this traditional drink!

Tricky Cider

Tricky Cider

What’s better than sampling a cider? Sampling nine ciders! Tricky Cider offer a range of ciders to try, from dry, through medium to traditional.

And if you’re partial to a flavoured cider, why not try their elderflower cider, or perhaps the rhubarb?

Nature’s Nectar Cheese

Nature's Nectar-flavoured cheese

The Snowdonia Cheese Company is a firm favourite with cheese lovers. This year, in addition to their much-loved Amber Mist and Green Thunder trundles, Snowdonia Cheese Company have a new, sweeter edition - Nature's Nectar, containing fig and honey.

Blackcurrant Jam with Sloe Gin

The Cherry Tree

You'll be spoilt for choice at The Cherry Tree, whose selection of jams and chutneys is almost endless. Jam flavours include cherry with port and blackcurrant jam with sloe gin. Whatever you jam preferences are, this stall has something for everyone.
