A new health food shop will be opening in Exeter city centre.

Grape Tree Health Foods will be opening at former shoe shop tReds in the Guildhall Shopping Centre.

The new store, which currently has four other branches in Devon including Paignton, Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Exmouth is set to open in February, although an exact opening date hasn't been confirmed.

Grape Tree Health Foods specialise in health and wellbeing and sell hundreds of products ranging from natural beauty, vitamins, supplements and health foods and snacks.

tReds announced their shock closure in September 2017 after closing down signs appeared in the shop window.

The store was offering 30 per cent off all their stock and they were also giving students an extra 10 per cent off.

A member of staff said at the time of the closure: "We were told that we were closing last Friday (September 9) because the rent of the shop was too high and they weren't prepared to pay it.

"As far as I'm aware we won't be relocating anywhere else in Exeter but we have been told there is a small possibility."

The former home of tReds is also To Let

The member of staff also confirmed that the tReds stores in Torquay, Plymouth and Barnstaple would not affected by the closure.

The latest business to open in the Guildhall was Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

The new branch opened in August 2018 in replace of FIVE Juice Bar, which is located opposite Sainbury's.

Vietnamese restaurant Pho also opened in the Guildhall in August 2018, in replace of Polpo.
