It looks like Gail Rodwell has had enough of sipping champagne and exploring the sights of Bangkok, as Coronation Street has confirmed that she will be heading back to the cobbles pretty soon.
Gail (Helen Worth) hasn't been seen on the ITV soap since July, when tensions in the Platt family hit breaking point as the truth about Audrey's (Sue Nicholls) stolen money finally emerged and Nick (Ben Price) and David (Jack P Shepherd) continued to clash after being arrested for breaching their bail conditions.
With a devastated Gail left convinced that her family wanted nothing to do with her, she hopped on a plane to Thailand and hasn't been seen since – but Corrie's latest filming pictures have now confirmed that she'll be back in the Platt family home before we know it.
In the soap's weekly preview images, Gail is shown consoling Bethany (Lucy Fallon) in an upcoming scene at the Platt home, while a suitcase can just about be seen behind the pair. So it looks like Gail wastes no time at all in jumping back into grandmother duties on her return.
Earlier this month, Coronation Street revisited Bethany's grooming ordeal with Nathan Curtis when one of his dangerous associates turned up at the restaurant, leaving Bethany shaken.
Meanwhile, the soap's other sneak peek pictures also show more of Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown's (Sam Aston) dramatic trip to Llandudno – which will see the unexpected arrival of their quadruplets in a cable car.
There's also a first look at new character Jade (Lottie Henshall), a teaching assistant who will help tutor Fiz Stape's (Jennie McAlpine) daughter Hope.
When Jade then moves into the house, it quickly complicates Fiz and Tyrone's (Alan Halsall) relationship – and going by this picture, it looks like there's already a bit of tension between Fiz and Jade.
Coronation Street films its scenes a few weeks in advance, so we can expect to see all these plotlines unfold in the autumn.
