David Tennant has lots of thoughts on the final season of Marvel's Jessica Jones — even if he won't actually be in it.
The Krysten Ritter-starring superhero show will end Netflix and Marvel's four-year partnership when its third and final series premieres on the streaming service later this year, following its widely-expected cancellation along with The Punisher.
The actor has now confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he won't actually have any involvement in those episodes.
There had been some confusion because Marvel's Jessica Jones recently dropped some hints that Tennant might return in some form. Kilgrave was killed off back in season one and had haunted Jessica in season two.
When a fan tweeted "goodbye again Kilgrave" last month, Rosenberg intriguingly replied: "Not quite yet!"
While Tennant won't actually be appearing again in Jessica Jones, he does have strong opinions about Netflix's decision to end the show. The actor actually thinks the timing was right to wrap it up, despite the fan outcry.
“I don’t really regard it as a cancellation so much as something having the life that it should have,” the actor told EW.
“Three seasons of that story is great. Rather than thinking of it as something that was cancelled, I think of it as something that had three seasons that will live in the memory.”
The Jessica Jones TV show is sadly coming to an end, but Marvel has actually already announced a new venue for the character. The studio will release new audio adventures for JJ along with Thor, Black Widow and Black Panther.
Jessica Jones's first two seasons are now streaming on Netflix.
