More than half of the 850 jobs that L Brands says will be eliminated as part of a restructuring are in central Ohio, according to layoff notices filed with the state.

L Brands has filed 15 notices that provide more information about the job cuts and where they will occur.

The layoffs will take place on or around Aug. 14, according to the notices.

L Brands said last week that it will eliminate about 15% of the jobs at its corporate offices in Columbus and around the world — about 850 positions — as part of a plan to reduce costs by $400 million a year.

Of the 850 jobs, 488 are in central Ohio. Of that number, 300 are in Columbus and the rest are in Reynoldsburg.

The biggest chunk of jobs is with L Brands’ Mast Technology Services in Columbus, where 142 jobs will be lost.

Other layoffs are among Victoria’s Secret, L Brands store design and construction and Bath & Body Works, with 10 jobs lost.

L Brands announced the job cuts after a deal to sell a majority stake in Victoria’s Secret fell through this past spring.

The retailer is moving to set up its struggling Victoria’s Secret operation as a separate, standalone company.
