A complainant was lodged with the Vastrapur police station on Thursday after an ex-employee of the Rajpath Club, duped people of Rs 1.65 crore by selling membership of in-active members to new members without the knowledge of the club authorities.

The complainant Amit Patel, General Manager of Rajpath club stated in his complaint that in the month of December he came to know that membership of the dead was seen active in the club data. During the investigation, it was revealed that new members were in charge of the membership. 

When the director asked the accused identified as Hitesh Desai to show the new members file, Desai denied saying that the file is missing. From the next day onwards, Desai stopped coming for work and and ignored all calls. Further investigation revealed that 38 new members were duped by Desai. The accused is absconding and search for him is on.
