GALE-FORCE winds will batter Dorset's coasts tonight and some disruption is expected.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for the South West of England between 10pm on Wednesday, February 6 and 9am on Thursday, February 7.
According to the Met Office, a period of very strong and gusty winds is likely on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
South West England will experience some of the strongest winds across the country, with gusts of 60-70mph on coasts and 50-60mph inland.
Elsewhere winds will be strongest after midnight, with gusts of 60 mph on coasts and 50 mph inland before easing during Thursday morning.
People have been told to expect some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, including for high-sided vehicles crossing bridges.
It is possible that there will be some short term loss of power and other services.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges is likely.
The wind is expected to pick up again on Friday, with another yellow weather warning in place.
Another bout of heavy wind is currently forecast between 12pm on Friday, February 8 and 6pm on Saturday, February 9.
