PIERRE, S.D. – The defending state champion Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats put on an offensive display on Tuesday night in Pierre outscoring Pierre 32-4 in a doubleheader sweep of Post 8 at Hyde Stadium. In the opener, Post 22 scored 5 runs in the first inning and added 8 more in the 4th after a 3 spot in the third inning in a 16-2 win. Blake Weaver and Isaac Arnold comibined on the mound for the win. Garrett Stout pitched 2.2 innings in the start taking the loss. In the nightcap, Post 22 again struck for 16 runs in a second 16-2 win over Post 8. Rapid City outhit Pierre 16-5 in the second game with a pair of 6 run innings in the third and sixth. Troy Wilhelm went 5 innings to pick up the win. Aaron Booth started and went 4 innings to take the loss for Pierre. Post 8 is now 7-7 on the season and have dropped 3 of their last 4. They compete in a tournament in Lennox this weekend.
