Loch Lomond’s primary six players enjoyed a particularly action-packed weekend as they represented the club superbly well over two big fixtures within the space of 24 hours.

The side was invited once again to take part in a competition organised by Glasgow Warriors which took place at Scotstoun Stadium ahead of the Guinness Pro14 match against Toyota Cheetahs on Saturday night.

Loch Lomond came third in their pool after playing three matches against Wigtownshire, Bishopton and Cumnock, and produced some brilliant rugby - not to mention plenty of hard work - which made their coaches particularly proud.

The team then got to see how the professionals do it, providing the guard of honour for the Warriors’ match (right) before being able to watching the home team run out 35-17 winners.

Meanwhile, Loch Lomond’s U14 team faced Birkmyre at the Dillichip on Sunday (far right, bottom image).

It was a closely contested game with both teams scoring six tries but Lomond pipped it right at the end.

It was a positive performance by the boys but there is plenty to work on at training before the next game away to Dalziel, next Sunday.

Finally this week, Loch Lomond’s minis travelled to Bishopton on Sunday (far right, top image).

The P1-3 team had lots of fun on a quick assault course between their games, and visible improvements in defence showed this is a Loch Lomond team which is developing in ability and growing in confidence.

Loch Lomond fielded a mixed P4-5 team for four games against Allan Glens and Bishopton, and after a narrow loss in their first game Loch Lomond won their other three matches and could be very proud of their efforts by the end.

Fresh from their trip to Scotstoun the night before, the P6 players were joined by their P7 team-mates against Bishopton; together they played some excellent rugby and were at their best when moving the ball quickly in difficult conditions.

The weekend’s efforts began to catch up with the Loch Lomond players towards the end of the day, but they refused to give up and kept running the ball.

This Sunday the minis travel to Bannockburn to play the host club and Carnoustie, with a start time of 10.30am.
