CONCORD — A 52-year-old man was killed Thursday morning in a solo-vehicle crash, police said.

His name has not been released.  Police said he was a Concord resident.

The crash happened at about 6:14 a.m. Thursday on Monument Boulevard near Virginia Lane.  Police said the man was driving a vehicle eastbound in the 1500 block of Monument when it veered off the roadway and collided with a support pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Monument Boulevard, between Lacey Lane and Virginia Lane, was closed for approximately four hours while police investigated.
