Dentists train members in basic life-saving procedures
Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The Indian Dental Association, Nagaland unit (IDANSB), and the Phoenix Medical Institute at Delhi organised an event called ‘continuing dental education’ focusing on basic life-saving procedures, on November 9 at the Hotel Europa Inn in Dimapur.
Various life-saving procedures such as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and use of automated external defibrillators were explained during the course, stated Arihant Jain, convenor, in an update on Wednesday.
Gurjap Singh, MDS (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon), was the course co-ordinator of the programme, while H Hotukho Chishi, president of the Nagaland State Dental Council, was the NSDC observer of the programme.
It stated that several doctors from various districts of Nagaland attended the programme to enhance their knowledge, which is required to perform delicate procedures. It was informed that a wide range of demonstrations were also conducted during the event using adult and infant mannequins.
Aochell Longchar remarked that dental doctors of Nagaland have acquired the skills to perform needed procedures during emergencies, it was informed.
