Incident on Lochend Road

Armed police were called to an Edinburgh street after reports of three men with weapons in the area.

One man has been arrested following the incident in Lochend Road and Sleigh Drive in the north of the city on Wednesday evening.

Locals had reported the group of three men were roaming the area carrying weapons.

Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record: "Police in Edinburgh received a report of three males in the Lochend Road and Sleigh Drive area in possession of weapons.

"Officers responded to the scene and one man was arrested.

"Inquiries into this incident are continuing."
