Pentland Hills Regional Parks have warned Edinburgh locals not to be tempted to drive to the Pentlands due to fears over overcrowding.
The news comes as Nicola Sturgeon eased some lockdown restrictions allowing for separate households to spend time together in the outdoors.
But Pentlands Hills Regional Park has closed their carparks following an increase of locals flocking to explore the hills during lockdown.
With Edinburgh set to experience some beautiful weather over the weekend, there are fears over locals abandoning social-distancing in favour of exploring beauty spots.
Pentland Hills Regional Park said: "Please note all car parks are still closed: do not drive to the Pentland Hills.
"In the near future, we will let you know when we are able to reopen car parks.
"When this happens, the number of spaces will be restricted in some car parks to allow safe social distancing between pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders and vehicles.

They added: "Scottish Government guidance for Phase 1 is not to travel more than 5 miles (broadly) from home, and then preferably by foot, cycle or wheel (meaning wheelchair).
"Our car parks and surrounding roads have the potential to become extremely busy.
"For this reason we would ask you to avoid the area if possible during the first days after reopening.
"We know it’s been a long time cooped up for many of us: this is a plea to hang on a little bit longer. Stay safe."
