Edinburgh is set to be hit with a barrage of wet and miserable weather today.

The Met Office have put a yellow weather warning in place for the capital, with rain expected for much of the day.

Showers are expected to get heavy around 7am with wet weather to continue throughout the morning.

There's likely to be some rain early in the afternoon before the downpours get heavier once again from 3pm.

And things don't look like improving much from there.

It shouldn't be too cold with temperatures around 10 or 11 degrees for most of Wednesday, although the wet weather should be enough to deter any voluntary trips outside.
