Fast and Furious 9's production team are to set up camp at Edinburgh's Holyrood Park next month.

Scenes for the huge movie blockbuster are due to be filmed in the capital next month, with George Street closed off for a weekend in September.

Now, some residents and businesses have been sent a letter ahead of the arrival of the FF9 Production Ltd team informing them that the unit base will be on the Holyrood Park fields, behind Holyrood Palace.

They will be camped out there from September 4-13, with the perimeter around the base fenced off for "safety and privacy reasons".

The site will consist of numerous trailers and a large marquee and an aluminium pad will also be put down to protect the grounds.

FF9 Production told locals that they will aim to "limit any potential disruption", writing: "This includes making sure our lighting is pointed away from your properties, Queens Drive is kept clear of our vehicles and that the generators we use are positioned in places where the noise is dissipated best."

While it's not yet known what scenes are being filmed in Edinburgh, there is a chance residents will be able to catch a glimpse of the A-list cast, starring of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and John Cena.

Councillor Adam McVey previously said of the production: "Productions are very exciting for film fans in the city and the Council will continue to work closely with the production team to ensure there is limited impact on the everyday lives of our citizens while filming takes place."
