Pupils across Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland walked out of classes to join the Climate Strike, a movement that is pressuring politicians to take action over climate change.

School children have been inspired by climate activist Greta Thunberg, aged 15, who condemned world leaders at UN Climate Change Conference for not being "mature enough to tell it like is".

Yesterday (Friday) children from around Edinburgh brought their plight to the doors of the Scottish Parliament, which saw young children and teens make their voices heard.

While one British MP said it was waste of time, elsewhere others have praised the next generation, even calling them "wee heroes".
