Essex Police has launched an appeal for information after a man was stabbed in Clacton.

The victim, who is a man in his 30s, was walking along Wellesley Road, Clacton at around 2.45pm on Thursday (December 13) after leaving the nearby Clacton-on-Sea train station.

He crossed the road in Oxford Road towards Bootleggers off-licence, where a man came up behind him and an altercation began.

During the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the stomach, before the attacker then ran from the scene in the direction of the train station.

The suspect has been described as being white, around 5ft 6ins tall and had blonde hair.

During the attack, he was wearing a black Puma hooded top, black Nike tracksuit trousers and a black Puma beany-style hat.
