An elderly man was found dead at a property in Sheffield this afternoon.
The discovery promoted a huge emergency services response including fire engines, police and ambulance crews.
Officers said they were called at around 3.40pm this afternoon following concerns for the safety of a man on Thorp Close.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "We received a call at around 3.40pm this afternoon with reports of concern for the safety of an elderly man.
"Officers attended a property on Thorp Close in Sheffield, along with colleagues from the ambulance service."
Sadly, an 81-year-old man was found dead inside his home and police say his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
